Weight Loss Myths You Should Think Twice About Continued
#4. Eating breakfast will keep you from gaining weight.
Breakfast is called the most important meal of the day for a reason. Breakfast is important in order to fuel and nourish your body to start the day. However, just because you eat breakfast doesn’t mean it will work miracles on your metabolism. In order for your breakfast to really pay off, you need to eat something nutritious, as well as keep nutrition and portions in mind throughout the rest of the day.
#5. If you snack, you’ll be unable to lose weight.
Diets can feel restrictive, and certain diets even restrict the time of day you can eat. However, if you are on a diet that allows for snacking either by allotting a certain amount of calories for snacks or the ability to eat a snack as long as it’s a certain type of food, having a snack should not hinder your weight loss goals. Snacking only becomes a problem if you eat unhealthy snacks and you don’t consider what else you’ve had during the day. Eating an unhealthy snack after a not so healthy lunch could certainly lead to the inability to lose weight or even weight gain if you do it enough.
#6. Eating before bed will make you gain weight.
It is suggested that you don’t eat before bedtime, but this tip is more so for your digestion than it is for your waistline. If you’re eating right before bed, it’s simply more likely that you’re eating more throughout the day, which could lead to weight gain. However, if you happen to eat a late dinner one night or if you like to snack before bed, if you keep it healthy and within the confines of your diet or whatever healthy lifestyle you choose to follow, a meal before bed won’t necessarily lead to weight gain.
